Basic amenities include clean bedding, fresh towels, bathroom supplies, and more. The hot water heater is very small and might run out if taking long showers. The kitchenette is at your disposal. Feel free to use our cooking ware, utensils, and appliances as needed. We have plenty of storage space for groceries. The outside grill and fire pits are also for you to enjoy. Make sure to check these important settings for maximum cold on the unit in the loft: Green light on top setting, both sides of temperature reading. If you want to disable the blue lights at night, press the far right button. There should be a remote next to the bed. Keep AC on all day to keep cool. The loft is non-smoking, if you need to smoke please do so outside and dispose of your cigarettes afterward. 

PARKING

Please park your vehicle(s) on the basketball court. Also please keep the main gate closed at all times (it will auto-close behind you after you open it).

GETTING AROUND

The closest grocery store is a Food Lion that is approximately one mile away, located at the intersection of Maybank Highway and River Road. There is also a number of different shops, banks, bars, and restaurants nearby. Please let us know if you are searching for a specific type of store or restaurant and we can point you in the right direction!

Folly Beach is about 12 miles from our house, making it the closest. Sullivan’s and Kiawah are further away although usually somewhat less touristy. Charleston does have both Uber and Lyft.

  1. To turn on the projector on press orange button on white remote to turn the projector on. 

  2. Use laptop to have projection show what is on the computer (Youtube, Netflix, etc.) or to stream music through stereo. Keep stereo set to AUDIO 1. Press SOURCE SEARCH on white remote (upper right) to find Computer. The password to the laptop is Jackson32772

SAFETY

A first aid kit is in the cabinet by the backdoor in the downstairs studio. A fire extinguisher is under the kitchenette sink. I rarely lock the doors as nobody has ever randomly found my driveway, however, keys are left on the kitchenette table. When you checkout, please return the key to the kitchenette table.

CHECKOUT

I kindly ask that you checkout before 11am. This will ensure that I have time to properly clean in preparation for other guests checking in. Let me know if this is going to be an issue and I will try to make arrangements that better suit your timeline. When you checkout, please leave the key on the kitchen table. Thank you! Bee City Zoo - A bit of a drive but worth it, this is such a unique zoo and honey harvesting/educating center, check the times and call before you drive there!

Unitarian Church Graveyard - A beautifully overgrown graveyard, makes for a great place to walk through with a coffee downtown, find its alley off King Street

The Alley - A bowling alley bar downtown with arcade games, try one of their trivia nights!

Tourism (but the good stuff)

Battery Park - A Charleston staple but go at sunset on a harvest moon!

Ravenel Bridge or “Cooper River Bridge” - Take a walk or jog across the bridge, nice to do first thing in the morning

Charleston Haunted Jail Tour - One of the better tours, fun as a date idea especially near Halloween

Mepkin Abbey - Take a day visit to the local monastery where monks garden and meditate along the river, very beautiful regardless of religious belief

Angel Oak - Visitors snap photos of the legendary Angel Oak Tree, which is over 60 ft. tall with a wide canopy. Its size is unreal, a sight to see in person!

SC Aquarium - Visit the aquarium and its sea turtle care center, check their website for great events
